A high profile local food manufacturing company, with a keen interest in pursuing environmentally friendly processes in the manufacture of their product, asked us to conduct an audit of their site giving recommendations for a more effective process for their waste disposal.
We were able to implement a recycling scheme which ensured the segregation of materials that could be recycled, reducing landfill costs and helping to earn revenue for the company.
Cardboard, plastic film, plastic drums and pallets were segregated and taken out of the waste disposal stream. 30 cu yard containers, compactors, a mill size baler, wheelie bins and pallets were placed on site for their use to ease the handling of the materials. Essex Reclamation were available on demand to remove materials for recycling when needed.
To help the company keep a record of cost reductions, Essex Reclamation Ltd are able to offer a monthly breakdown of weights/types of materials being sent for recycling allowing the manufacturer to build up a good picture of their carbon footprint and how they are saving money.
